Sunrise

May you receive the morning sun

Fresh, warm and bright

As you would a smile from me

And when the clouds arrive before the sun

May you smile in its place

To warm the friends I see no longer

Your glow bubbling up

Radiating from the inside out

Should your tears fall like rain drops in my absence

May they sparkle crystal bright in the sunlight’s caress

May they wash away your fears and soothe your sadness

The sun still warms the earth even through the winter storms

And my love lives beyond our final goodbye

It urges you on to face this new day
